Hacienda Riquelme Golf course is a par-72 (6416 mts.), designed by Nicklaus Design is unique among the six courses that make up the Nicklaus Golf Trail. It is located on the ancient estate that bears its name (the Riquelme family are descendants of Guillén Riquelme, a knight who accompanied King Alfonso X on his conquest of Murcia). The resort has a lovely 19th Century colonial-style building which was the retreat of the Riquelme family and around which the Polaris Group have built an entire golf resort – villas, shops, gymnasium, bars, restaurants and of course a Jack Nicholas Design golf course.

This 18-hole championship golf course is close to the Mar Menor on Spain’s Costa Calida. (Murcia). Just 20-minutes from Murcia-San Javier airport and 45-minutes from Alicante airport, Hacienda Riquelme is set between the mountains and Sucina, a beautiful area that has been designated a regional natural park. The golf course has been designed to keep the natural look to the area.

Ample fairways are combined with hard to approach greens, and bunkers ready to complicate your game. They are sown with the latest variety of Paspalum grass which has a high saline tolerance. This leads the grass to stay in tip top condition with less water. The course is surrounded by wild flowers, olive trees and large lakes.

With numerous subtle random contours featured on the green, putting is further complicated. The wider than average fairways allow all golf players a great opportunity to play, with plenty of room across the contoured greens, this course is a true challenge for golfers of all levels.
