Lyle and Scott is a Scottish based company founded back in 1874 in the Scottish town of Hawick, by business partners Walter Scott and William Lyle. The brand has sprung to prominence in the past few years and has been seen on celebrities such as the Arctic Monkeys, Babyshambles, Dermot O’Leary and Steve Jones.

Lyle & Scott started out making wool products back in 1874 particularly for golfers, and this was to remain their speciality for many years. The brand became internationally acclaimed when it teamed up with a young Christian Dior in the 1950’s to launch a cashmere range of clothing. Throughout the sixties they sponsored many leading golf players including Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus, they also supplied the knitwear and polo shirts for the Ryder Cup in 1969.

The brand relaunched itself at the beginning of the millennium with an emphasis on modern day fashion, custom fit polo shirts, striped colours and more tapered cuts saw its popularity rise tremendously and has made it one of the leading designer menswear brands on the market today.
