Now that the weather has turned and there’s a nip in the air, today we take a look at some of the stylish knitwear that is available at TrendyGolf this Autumn. From the crew neck to the shawl collar cardigan and the on-trend zip-up, here we guide you through how to wear these items for any occasion, whether it’s on or off the golf course…

The Crew Neck

Fast becoming one of this season’s hottest pieces, the crew neck is versatile and totally on trend for Autumn/Winter 2012. There are a number of different styles currently available on the site, from plain to patterned with additional detailing; the choice is yours.

For an ultimate smart-casual on-course look, wear the crew neck with a polo and some chinos for a stylish, yet traditional vibe. To wear this off course, we recommend opting for a button down shirt and this season’s must have: the corduroy.

With colours aplenty at your disposal and numerous ways in which the crew neck can be worn, this versatile garment is definitely a knitwear essential that will bolster your wardrobe options this Autumn.

The V-Neck

A classic, yet contemporary jumper, the v-neck has stayed on trend for as long as we can remember due to its versatility, plus the fact that updated styles make their way into new season collections every Autumn.

The V-Neck can be dressed up with a shirt and tie for a more formal occasion and dressed down with a t-shirt for a relaxed day out. On the course, simply wear over a plain polo with some tailored trousers to complete the look. If you are attending a formal event, or off to the office, the v-neck is equally adaptable and can serve as the sometimes vital extra layer as part of a suit or blazer-trouser combo – just ensure the fit of both these garments is perfect for your shape and height.

The Cardigan/Shawl Neck

The cardigan has become a staple in men’s fashion over the last few years, with an abundance of styles hitting the high street and catwalks alike. Much like the V-Neck, this can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. An updated version of the cardigan is the shawl neck, a thick, weighty winter warmer made famous by the likes of Daniel Craig and David Beckham in recent times.

The oversized folded down collar adds an extra detailed element to this stylish knit. Work the cardigan or shawl neck with a shirt and a pair of jeans for a night out on the town, or simply throw on a button down polo shirt for hitting the links on a chilly day. There’s also added value in the shawl neck as the thicker material will last longer, and providing you select the right colour and size this could be a timeless piece – one purchase will keep you set for the next few seasons.

The Zip-up

We believe that this season, the zip-up jumper is ideal for those cold, frosty mornings out on the first tee, and following the emergence of many zip up knits at the recent Dunhill Links Championship we have seen the popularity of this style climb of late.

As the colder months draw in, preparing for that early morning tee time can be quite a daunting task. The key here is to layer without restricting your movement, and this kind of jumper below will trap warmth in whilst allowing you the freedom to swing freely. It’s important not to overcomplicate your winter layering, which is why the zip up is ideal because it works equally well with just a base layer, or if your club still plays host to some traditional rules then an added collared shirt will work as well.
