Located in a beautiful and typically Gran Canaria landscape Salobre Golf Resort contrasts between the lush greens and the surrounding volcanic desert land, a test to your golfing skills in a demanding layout, a chance to use every club in your bag. Salobre offers two courses, the North and South course, with the later course offering the harder challenge.
Salobre South – Intelligently designed by Roland Favré & Robert Trent Jones Jr. the course is almost desert-like in some parts and there is a very high tee on the fourteenth, where the green is enclosed by mountains, cactus landscape, and rough stones. The designers have made use of the landscape to create this a challenging layout that was not only interesting but also challenging, challenging, where the golfer has to use all the skills to come up with a winning score card.
This par 71 golf course has been divided into 4 par 5s, 9 par 4s, and 5 par 3s, the elevated location of the Salobre Golf Resort course offers breathtaking panorama of the mountains as well as the sea. It is quite interesting to see the contrast of the green of the golf course with the desert milieu and any golfer is sure to have a wonderful time. The course has an Arizona feeling, not just its design but also in the atmosphere that surrounds it.
Salobre North – Designed by Ron Kirby, Salobre North is set apart from the rest of the golf courses in the Canary Islands. Its unequalled course has been designed to adapt to its volcanic rock surroundings, giving it with a new type of challenge.
Occupying the rugged terrain, canyons and ravines of a constantly, and often steeply, undulating desert environment, many holes seem to cling precariously to the hilly slopes. Significant elevation changes characterise most holes, on which slivers of fairway are usually flanked by rocky drop-offs or harsh desert scrub. You have to be very careful as the course will punish you for hitting a wayward shot off the tee, but if you manage the course well you will be able to control this comprehensively engaging layout.
Never before has a golf course captured the natural beauty of the South of Gran Canaria like this one has, making it an absolute must for all those players who love to play golf in unusual locations.
