The Phokeethra Country Club was inaugurated in 2007, designed by Weeyos Golf Design the course hosted the 2009 Johnnie Walker Classic and 2010 Cambodian Open.
The location is perfect for Cambodia golf visitors as it is half way from the airport to town and reflects much having to do with Cambodian culture and history. For example between the 9th green and 10th tee is a restored ‘Roluh’ bridge, which is also the iconic image used in the course’s logo, dating back to the 11th century Khmer empire.
A combination of Paspalum grasses are used on both fairways and greens, which gives the golf course its deep green color and insures a high standard of course conditions all year round. The 7,145-yard, 18-hole course reflects Phokeethra Country Club’s dedication to creating an exclusive golfing experience.
Sweeping fairways and generous greens give the Cambodia golf club a distinctive layout and feel. Natural lagoons and sand traps thread through the course to challenge golfers of all abilities. The course provides a good mix of tricky par 3’s, individual par 4’s and par 5’s which require a combination of long drives and good direction control to score well.
A challenging championship caliber layout features water on all but one hole and concludes with the signature double water carry 18th-hole that offers a daunting final shot into a challenging island green.
Nice practice facilities consisting of separate pitching and putting greens are located close to the clubhouse, allowing golfers a chance to practice their skills before heading out on the course. A driving range is also planned to open in the near future.
