Düsseldorfer Golf Club, Germany1

The Düsseldorf Golf Club was founded on November 9, 1961 as the first Düsseldorf Golf Club was designed by F. W. Hawtree in an undulating landscape.

After the driving range had been available to members since autumn 1962, the first 9 holes were opened in October 1963. The square design was created by the well-known British architect’s office FW Hawtree & Son. 26000 cubic meters of earth were moved and 14000 trees were replanted during the course. This developed into a park with conifers, birches, cherry trees and mountain ash. The course is one of the most beautiful and interesting golf courses in Germany. In 1964 the second 9 holes were completed.

In August 1998 the construction of the 18 greens and the putting greens started.

In spring 2019, extensive modernization and renovation measures were completed on the golf course and on the driving range in order to be well prepared for the future.

The movement areas on the driving range were fastened and expanded with high-quality concrete paving. The sand was changed in 80 bunkers and an optimization of the floor plan and conditions for an improved game operation was carried out. Numerous paths were completely renewed by paving or a new mineral top layer.

Today, the Düsseldorf Golf Club has around 1000 members, including around 600 full members, the rest of which are divided into young people and supporting members. Four generations play in the club at the same time.
