Golf Architects/Designers: Luigi Rota Caremoli

Born in Italy in July 4th 1945, Luigi Rota Caremoli graduated on Science Geologic-Topo-Cartographical and Buildings at the Marconi University in Rome.  He is has been professionally involved in golf for over 45 years and has specialized in golf course design, remodelling and development in Italy and abroad for over 27 years.

He was International Adjudicator of the Italian Golf Federation for 15 years; founder of the Italian Association of Golf Secretaries and for many years he has been Secretary and Vice President; he has been member of the Association of Golf Course Superintendents of America since 1972.

Luigi Rota Caremoli has designed a number of golf courses for international championships, Opens and national championships. He was commissioned twice to remodel and plan the golf course for Germany’s most important championship “The German Master”.

He was a member of the Managing Commission of the following golf projects: Golf Acquabona, Golf Modena, Golf Tolcinasco, Golf & Country Valcurone and has led the opening of many clubs on a technical and sporting level.

Since 1983 he is a leading golf designer in his own company Golf and Gardens which is part of an engineering team covering all aspects of architecture. His philosophy of the environmental conservation of the natural landscape of each site, with the strategy of the game of golf, without forgetting the costs and maintainability, comes from the history of golf architecture, combined with the direct experience on all phases of his life of golf development. He has completed more than 30 of own projects throughout Italy, France and Caribbean area to a high standard of golf architecture.
