On January 16, 1906, the Hamburger Golf-Club was founded in Hamburg’s “Patriotic Building”. From 1928 to 1930, the world-famous golf-course architects Colt, Alison, and Morrison created a masterpiece of English golf architecture on the club’s premises that still exists today.

Since 1935 and until today many national and international championships have been held in the course. Bernhard Langer was the first German to win there the German Open in 1981. Due to the success of its active players, 4 x winners of the European Cup of the national champion and 19 x German team champion, the Hamburg Golf Club was awarded by the Federal President with the Silver Laurel Leaf.
