The North Sound Club is the only 18-hole championship golf course on Grand Cayman and is a short drive from George Town, its layout has the scenic North Sound as a backdrop, providing views of the Caribbean Sea as well as tricky ocean breezes that can make the course very challenging.
As given by the name, this is a links-style golf course that is reminiscent of traditional Scottish courses; a par 71 with 6605 yard course with a rating of 73.1 and slope of 139. The natural terrain was altered as little as possible, leaving intact the rolling landscape of indigenous flora and fauna.
Challenges abound with the prevailing Caribbean trade winds and with water coming into play on 15 of the 18 holes. However, the five sets of tee boxes allow an enjoyable opportunity for even the novice golfer; this golf club hosts the annual Caribbean Amateur Golf Championship each summer.
The North Sound Golf Club golf facility also offers a driving range and short game greens with bunkers.
