Scottish heritage brand Lyle & Scott has launched a new performance range for AW15 focusing on technically driven golf wear for both men and women.
Established in Hawick, in 1874, the Lyle & Scott brand has been built on premium quality products and strong attention to detail which is apparent throughout its fashion and golf ranges.
It was the 1970s when the iconic golden eagle first landed on the fairways, quickly taking the golfing world by storm and supplying Hawick’s finest knitwear to some of the world’s greatest golfers including Gary Player and Arnold Palmer.
Now more than 140 years old, Lyle & Scott recognises a need to move with the times, and, in a move to appeal to the modern golfer, has developed a range of fully technical baselayers, polos, jumpers, mid-layers and waterproofs.
The focus for this range has been very much on the fabrics – each garment comes with wicking, ‘anti-bac’. and four-way stretch as standard. In addition, this exciting new collection sees the iconic golden eagle return to the brand’s historic golf line, a significant move which not only marks a new dawn but also highlights Lyle & Scott’s commitment to performance and quality.
The range comprises three elements: core performance, all weather and an archive capsule.
Core performance sees a focus on key pieces which can be worn regardless of season – fusing fashion, form and function. Polos, jumpers and mid-layers are offered in a selection of colours along with an impressive choice of shorts and trousers.
The all-weather range has been developed for the modern golfer, considering ultimate performance throughout the development process. Features include interior linings, sealed tapes and adjustable cuffs while a selection of baselayers – crafted from a merino blend – provide the ultimate insulation.
Finally, inspired by the brand’s impressive history, the archive collection fuses the brand’s 141-year heritage with performance golf wear. An engineered stripe design provides a modern sporty edge in a selection of contemporary colours while a Prince of Wales check brings a classic look to the line.
Ergonomic styled panelling provides a contrast of style and texture, maximising comfort and creating a flattering aesthetic. The brands Scottish roots are clear with a contemporary argyle pattern featuring on a selection of polos and jumpers.
