Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club at Sandals Emerald Bay in the Bahamas is a championship 18-hole course designed by golf legend, Greg Norman. Set to become one of the world’s greatest ocean-side clubs, the course uses an environmentally friendly seashore paspalum grass, which offers a lush, deep green canopy.
Nestled in a series of dramatic fairways along the oceanfront that wind through seaside dunes, the course finishes on a rocky peninsula with a spectacular view of the ocean. A Par 72, approximately 7,200 yards long and was designed with Norman’s philosophy to bring into play the “bump and run” shots around the greens. This will give the player the option to play a number of different shots.
There are five tee boxes to choose from, so take you medicine appropriately. The golf course has six signature holes, which all skirt the edge of the scenic Emerald Bay peninsula. While the Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club’s back nine has more scenic views, the first nine offers an interesting variation of holes that feature marshes, lakes, and rock outcroppings.
This course is set to become one of the world’s greatest ocean-side layouts and, once more, Norman has considered the environment and seeded the layout using friendly but lush seaside paspalum grass and the result is about as close as you might get to a tropical links.
