You might rely on a TomTom device to get you to the course but now you could be calling on them to navigate you round the course too, thanks to the launch of the TomTom Golfer GPS watch. It’s one of only a few wrist GPS devices to offer hazard distances, pin distances and lay-up points as well as your usual front, middle and back yardages.
Weighing in at just 53g and 11.5mm thick, the watch is discreet and easy navigation is enhanced thanks to the use of a four-way navigation button located beneath the screen – a feature that can be found on TomTom’s other Sport GPS devices. The position of this button makes it easier to use and scroll through the various functions.
“Understanding the challenges ahead will help golfers to improve their score,” Corinne Vigreux, TomTom’s Managing Director, told TG. “The TomTom Golfer provides at-a-glance graphics to critical course data, helping golfers to make smarter decisions.”
There’s detailed data on more than 34,000 global golf courses, and it can be wirelessly synced to a dedicated smart-phone app to ensure up-to-date course data is always at hand. You should easily be able to get two rounds out of it with a 10-hour battery lifespan in GPS mode.
As well as offering precise yardages, the TomTom Golfer will allow users to track their round scores. Shot distances and round times can also be logged.
