Belas Clube Campo golf course is situated between the town of Belas and Vale de Lobos area, near the World Heritage town of Sintra and only about ten minutes drive away from Portugal’s cosmopolitan capital, Lisbon. The area used to be popular with the nobility and the royal family as an ideal place to come and spend the summer.
This is a championship standard, par-72 golf course of 6,366 meters. It is one of the masterpieces of the renowned golf course designer William “Rocky” Roquemore, the course demands both skill and tactical play and is acknowledged both locally and internationally as one of Portugal’s best constructed layouts. It’s impeccably maintained greens, tees and fairways were seeded with Penneagle and Pennlinks grass and are set well into the valleys for protection against the wind.

The course meanders amongst the hillsides, affording splendid views of the Sintra hills. It is divided into two well-defined parts a low-density residential area and an untouched natural environment. The signature holes, noted for both their beauty and their difficulty, are the 2nd, dubbed “Augusta” after the 13th at the famous course in Georgia, and the 18th, aptly named “The Grand Hole”. The elegant, modern Belas clubhouse is decorated in shades of terra cotta, blue and yellow. Through the bay window of the restaurant there is a magnificent view over rolling green hills with the Pena Palace on the horizon.
